Online, across time zones
South Africa is closer than you think
I work online with people in the UK, Ireland and across Europe. South African time runs only an hour or two ahead of most of Europe, so an evening session in London is an evening session in Johannesburg too. And because my practice is here, a session costs £40 or €45 — a full hour with a deeply experienced counsellor, at about half the going rate in the UK or Europe.

About me
The kettle has been on since 1979
I qualified as a social worker at Wits in the 1970s, and I have spent every working year since then with people — in communities, in a care home for older people, and in private practice. I am warm, direct when it helps, and very hard to shock.
I'm registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP 10-27663), and trained in somatic, trauma-focused and emotionally focused approaches. My approach is person-centred: you set the pace, I bring everything those years have taught me.
Fees
Plain fees, stated up front
R750 a 60-minute session in South Africa (couples R1,250 for 90 minutes), with a sliding scale if money is tight. £40 / €45 internationally. Sessions with a registered social worker can often be claimed back from South African medical aids, depending on your plan.
